Let me just give a little introduction to how I go about finding the inspiration for my tree quilts.

If you are a person who has always depended on using a pattern for making a quilt it can be quite intimidating to think about trying to create a design of your own. I remember that feeling!

You know what? It was actually very freeing once I made my first design. I felt like the whole world of free style quilting was opening up for me. My wish for you is that you take that first step and just give it a try.

Just think! Once you have created this quilt, you can go out on your own and create a totally different design with the techniques you’ve learned.

In this single project class we will be making a very specific tree quilt without a pattern but I will show you the tools I use to easily create a compelling scene. There are links to all my sources for supplies needed. You will choose your own tree fabric – I do give a suggestion of where to shop online.

If you are an absolute beginner to sewing or quilting I would recommend watching my free video, Sewing Machine Basics. Find it on the menu at the top of this page. You will need to already have some quilting experience to be able to complete this tree quilt. It is not a beginner project but can be completed if you know how to quilt using a domestic machine and a walking foot or free hand quilting foot.
